Tuesday, September 11th, the TVEA
Principals Recognition Ceremony was
held at the Temecula Library and was
very well received by all in
attendance. This years recipients
were Pilar Byham from Sparkman
Elementary School, Pam Keller from
Bella Vista Middle School, Barbara
Oglesby from Vail Elementary School
and Jona Hazlett from La Vorgna
Elementary School.
Our
initial expectation was that 60
teachers and family members would
participate, but over 100 ultimately
showed up for the celebration. Doing
the speaking honors for each site were
Steve Miller at Sparkman, Judy Kendall
at Bella Vista, Gary Check at Vail,
and Sandy H., Michele O., and Becky B.
at La Vorgna. The words from teachers
about their leaders was touching, and
the principals were moved to tears at
the heartfelt prose of their teachers.
This ceremony has quickly become a
very powerful example of what we do
well as an Association, by giving our
members an opportunity to showcase
their exceptional interpersonal
skills. Last night’s efforts by our
colleagues made us all very proud to
be a part of the Education
community.
Special
thanks to Executive Board members
Meline Akashian, Chris Lindberg,
Marcia Varner, and Gary Check, who
represented our Association admirably.
The TVUSD Board of Trustees member and
endorsed school board candidate Rick
Shafer complimented TVEA on a terrific
event. Asst. Superintendent Tim
Ritter, former winner of the award,
also represented the district office. We
appreciate as well our other staff
that attended and affirmed the
process. Congratulations and thanks
again to all who made the evening a
great success!
